History
From the manufacture of skin patches in 1915, over more than a century Plastod has evolved into a point of reference worldwide for the design, development, and production of advanced medical solutions adhering to international standards.

Our Business Management System, including all stages of design, production, and control of medical devices, is certified according to the ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 international standards. It also complies with the EU Medical Device Regulation, namely the Regulation (EU) 2017/745. Our products’ conformity is assessed by a notified body accredited both on a European and international scale.

Design freeze
After prototype validation confirms customer requirements, we implement a ‘design freeze’. This step locks down the medical device’s specific features, including final materials, shapes and dimensions, based on its function and usability. This ensures a stable and consistent production process.
Industrialisation
Once the design is finalised, we begin the industrialisation phase. This stage focuses on optimising the manufacturing process for large-scale production. We implement advanced technologies and automation to streamline production, reduce costs, and maintain high quality. This ensures that we can efficiently produce medical devices that meet our customers’ needs and industry standards.
Regulatory
At Plastod, we comply with strict regulatory and quality standards, in adherence with the EU MDR and ISO 13485. We help clients in the whole regulatory compliance process, managing also post-market requirements and product monitoring.
Quality control
Our team takes charge of assessing if the requirements established for products’ intended applications and indications for use are met. To check these criteria we conduct machine and quality tests on production batches based on clients’ needs.
